The Films From the South festival will take place 4.-11. October. Though the main focus this year is on China, films from South Africa are also represented, see below.

We are together (Playing 8th and 9th October at Vika)
Directed by Paul Taylor
A beautiful film about a few of South Africa’s 1,2 million aids-orphans. A film that will change your views on Africa and aids forever, the programme says.

A hilariously funny film about three not too talented standup-comedians on their way to South Africas biggest rock festival “Oppikoppi.”

Heartlines (Playing 5th and 11th October at Vika)
Directed by Angus Gibson
A film about crime, about forgiving yourself and others and how difficult it is to escape your own past. Heartlines is part of the Heartlines-project to raise awareness about society’s values and the need for involvement in South African social and political life.
